The engagement of April Lynn Kadlecik of Brooklyn, N.Y. to Dominic Joseph Portanova, also of Brooklyn, has been announced by her parents.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Paul Kadlecik of Lansford, and Cynthia Melnick Kadlecik of Coaldale. She is a 2001 graduate of Panther Valley High School and holds a bachelor of art degree in psychology from Temple University.
She is currently enrolled in a graduate school program at Long Island University in New York City.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Portanova of Mechanicsburg, Pa. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Scranton and obtained his juris doctorate from Penn State Dickinson School of Law.
He is employed as a senior leasing representative for Simon Property Group, a Fortune 500 company, located in New York City.
The couple is planning a May 7, 2011 wedding.
