October 7, 1978 Dave Slonaker rushes for 160 yards and two touchdowns to help Panther Valley post a 28-8 victory over Shenandoah Valley. Slonaker reaches the end zone on runs of 69 and five yards as the Panthers finish the contest with 396 yards on the ground. Ed Shubeck gains 102 yards rushing with most of them coming on an 83-yard scoring scamper. The winners, coached by Trevor Lawrence, also receive a 68-yard TD run from Geno DeGiosio.
