Published October 07. 2010 05:00PM

The two drivers involved in a crash about 8:41 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 4, along SR335 (Kunkletown Rd.), in Ross Township, Monroe County, were injured.

State police at Lehighton said Pamela R. Saldibar, 33, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound while Julia A. McDermott, 59, also of Saylorsburg, was operating a 1999 Toyota Rav 4 westbound. Troopers said Saldibar lost control of her car while traveling too fast for conditions. The vehicle crossed the center line and struck the Toyota. After impact the Cavalier continued east and struck a tree along the berm, coming to rest in the westbound lane. After impact the Rav 4 rotated counter-clockwise and struck a tree along the berm where it came to rest.

Both drivers were taken by West End ambulance to the Pocono Mountain Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment of injuries.

Troopers also reported investigating a rear-end type crash that occurred about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, along SR209, near Smith Drive, in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said John S. Hough, 40, of Palmerton, was stopped attempting to make a turn into Zinc City when a vehicle operated by Wendell C. Coston, 46, of East Stroudsburg, was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Kelly J. Odonel, 39, of Effort. Impact pushed Coston's vehicle into Hough's vehicle.

Odonel and Coston suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Palmerton Hospital by West End ambulance. Troopers cited Odonel for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
