Franklin Township couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hartman Sr., Franklin Township, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary recently.

They were married on Sept. 24, 1960 by the late Rev. Allen Hanson at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Big Creek, in Franklin Township.

Mrs. Hartman is the former Esther Cressley, daughter of the late Robert and Esther Cressley of Franklin Township. Her husband is the son of the late Edward and Elsie Hartman (Koch) of Franklin Township.

The Hartmans have three sons: Raymond Jr., who is a companion to Valerie Mitarotonda; Robert, who is married to Julie; and Ryan, who is married to Vivian; all of Franklin Township.

They have six grandchildren: Christy, Jessica, Stacey, Shelby and Tara, all of Franklin Township, and Robert, who is currently serving in Afghanistan.

They have one great-granddaughter; Nevaeh.

In honor of their special day, the Hartman's children hosted a party for them at the Franklin Township Fire Company.
