Burglaries probed
State police at Lehighton are investigating two burglaries that occurred at two Monroe County locations, both on Tuesday, Oct. 5.
Troopers said the residence of Matthew Farah, 40, of Box 952, Serfass Rd., in Gilbert, Polk Township, was entered by unknown means. Removed from the home were jewelry and coins. The entry occurred sometime between 7:20 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The second entry occurred at the home of Jay Broderick, 43, of Lower Smith Gap Rd., in Eldred Township. Entry was gained through a side window. Removed was a Sentry safe containing various personal items, troopers said. The intruders fled through a rear door. The incident occurred sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
