Pleasant Valley falls in doubles

Pleasant Valley's doubles team lost its opener in the District 11 tournament.

Pleasant Valley's Nicole Reeder and Emily Skutnik were eliminated in the opening round of the District 11 Class AAA Doubles Tournament at West End Recquet and Fitness Club in Allentown.

The Bears' top tandem fell to Nazareth's Viman Hou and Simi Opeyemi, 6-3, 6-0.

Weatherly-Pius X

Weatherly rolled to another straight game victory, defeating Pius X, 25-10, 25-20, 25-8 in a non-league match.

Rachel Heister had a nice night distributing the ball for the Wreckers (12-4) as she racked up 20 assists and also added four service aces. Alyssa Kephart had seven kills and seven digs; Sarah Dolinksy had five kills and five digs; Brittney Hinkle had five kills and five digs; and Samantha Strizak had three kills and seven digs.
