Community supper
St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race Street, will hold its free community supper on Sunday, Oct. 24, from 4-6 p.m. The menu planned this month is pork and sauerkraut.
Scouting for Food
Members of Cub Pack 138 will be collecting canned foods for the local food pantry on Saturday, Nov. 13. The Scouts will begin their collection on that day at 9 a.m. If you wish to donate to this worthy cause, please have your items bagged and on your porches for pick up.
Halloween parade
The Jim Thorpe Halloween Parade is Sunday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. It will proceed from Second and Center streets, up North Street, and end at Memorial Hall for free refreshments and awards. Everyone in the community is invited to march in the parade, including groups and organizations, who may build a float or march in uniforms. Bloodmobile
The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be stationed at Memorial Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 20, from 1-6 p.m. Donors should be 17 years and older.
