PV Golden Agers
The next meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers will be held on Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. Halloween will be celebrated at this meeting.
Nov. 8 is the last day to sign up for the Christmas party which will be held on Nov. 28.
At the Oct. 11 meeting, conducted by Vice President Shirley Pavlick, a poem was read by Minnie Kennedy entitled "Autumn White." There was a demonstration on cookie decorating.
Nesquehoning
Trick or Treat
Nesquehoning Mayor Tony Walck has declared that Trick or Treat Night will be on Sunday, Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. All residents who plan to receive the costumed children should have their porch lights on as a welcome.
St. John's Church
At 7 p.m. each Wednesday, St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott Street, Lansford, holds an informal worship: a spiritual, peaceful evening service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this relaxed, brief evening prayer. For those who wish to come early, a simple supper is served at 6 p.m. followed by a brief adult and children's Bible study at 6:30 p.m.

Tax collector
The office of Alice Kane, tax collector for Summit Hill, will be closed until Thursday, Oct. 28.
On Oct. 28, she will have evening hours only from 5:30-7 p.m. On Oct. 29, hours will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
