Lions to meet
The monthly meeting of the Summit Hill Lions Club will be held Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. at the Parkview Inn. Dr. Kenneth Vermillion, president, will be in charge of the session.
The guest speaker will be Bob Argot, past district governor. His topic will be the Lions Clubs International Foundation, which helps with national and international disaster relief and other humanitarian projects.
Food pantry
The Summit Hill Hill Food Pantry distributes foods to the needy in town usually on the fourth Tuesday of the month between 10 a.m. and noon. The Lions Club members assist the pantry in the packing and distribution of food boxes.
The next delivery is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 26.

Boy Scout Troop 743
Boy Scout Troop 743, Summit Hill, will hold its weekly meeting on Sunday, Oct. 24, from 6-8 p.m. at the Summit Hill Heritage Center, the former St. Paul UCC Church, Hazard and Chestnut streets.

Historical society
The Summit Hill Historical Society is looking for loans/donations of historical items that can be used for displays in the windows at the museum. Among the suggested items are things about town history, art, and sports-related or holiday-themed artifacts.
Anyone who has items to be displayed is asked to call Maxine Vermillion, (570) 645-9772.
Scripture sharing
The weekly scripture sharing sessions sponsored by St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will be held tonight at 7 o'clock in the church rectory.
Presbyterian church
The schedule of services for the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, for Sunday, Oct. 24, is as follows: Junior choir rehearsal, 8:45 a.m.; Sunday school, 9:15 a.m.; worship service, 10:30 a.m.; and Fellowship coffee time, 11:30 a.m., or after the worship service.
The Chancel Choir will rehearse at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27.
