Attempted abduction probed

Pocono Mountain Regional police are investigating the attempted abduction of a young girl.

Police said about 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20, they were called to the Indian Mountain Lakes development in Tunkhannock Township, for a report of an attempted abduction of a 15-year-old girl.

The girl reported she was walking home when a male grabbed her from behind and attempted to put her inside a black Ford Explorer. The girl was able to kick the suspect in the groin area and get away.

The suspect was described as being a white male, six feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds, between the ages of 20-30, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black boots.
