Two facing DUI in Summit Hill

Two drivers were charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after two separate incidents in Summit Hill.

According to borough police, On Aug. 1, at 2:15 a.m. police were on patrol and stopped a vehicle that was being operated erratically. The driver, identified as Bernard Mieczkowski, was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

He was charged with DUI.

On Aug. 20, at 5:15 p.m. police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident along East White Bear Drive. According to police a vehicle had struck a PP&L pole and caught fire.

The investigation revealed that the driver, Carlos Villanueva, 28, of 220 Bankway St., Lehighton, was under the influence and did not have a driver's license.

He was charged with DUI, careless driving, and drivers required to be licensed.
