Vehicle stop leads to arrest in Monroe

A vehicle stop has led to the arrest of a Monroe County resident.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20, officers stopped a Honda Civic along SR940 at Sullivan Trail, for vehicle code violations. The driver was identified as Roxanne Scavello and the passenger as Anthony L. Williams Jr., of Swiftwater, owner of the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed several different drug paraphernalia items, small amounts of marijuana and a pair of brass knuckles, which are a prohibited offensive weapon.

Williams was taken into custody and charged with drug counts and the weapons charge. He placed in the county prison in Sndyersville. Scavello was not charged.
