Palmerton woman receives honors scholarship

Jaclyn Ziegenfus, daughter of Dolores and Scott Ziegenfus of Palmerton, was recently awarded the Nancy Cullen '76 Scholarship from Commonwealth Honors College at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Ziegenfus was selected among students who demonstrate outstanding scholarship and participate in both Commonwealth Honors College and the UMass Minuteman Marching Band. The scholarship was established by university alumna Nancy Cullen to encourage and reward the dedication and commitment necessary to participate in both programs.

Ziegenfus, a 2007 graduate of Palmerton Area High School, will be a senior at UMass Amherst where she majors in music and plays the mellophone.
