State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a rear-end type crash along SR209 in Port Carbon which involved a Tamaqua driver and occurred about 2:59 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29.

Troopers said Kenneth E. Blew, 40, of Port Carbon, was stopped attempting a left turn when his 1988 Oldsmobile station wagon was struck in the rear by a 2003 Oldsmobile Bravado driven by Melissa J. Wickersham, 35, of Tamaqua.

Both drivers were not injured but a 10-year-old female with Wickersham sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention. Another passenger with Wickersham, a 13-year-old female, was not injured.

Troopers cited Wickersham for following too closely.

Troopers also investigated a one vehicle crash about 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, along Broad St., in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said John B. Williams, 65, of Philadelphia, was driving a 2010 Dodge Caravan eastbound when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle drifted onto the right berm and went down a steep embankment. The van continued down the embankment for about 200-300 feet before coming to rest against a tree.

Williams and his passenger, Prasad V. Senapathi, 24, of King of Prussia, were slightly injured and transported to the Reading Hospital by Hamburg ambulance.

Williams was cited for traveling on roadways laned for traffic.
