Vehicle stop leads to drug charges

A vehicle stop by members of the Pocono Mountain Regional police has led to drug charges pending.

Police said about 3:16 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, officers stopped a vehicle along Stillwater Drive at SR940 in Tobyhanna Township, for a vehicle code violation.

The driver was identified as Ginelsi Guerrero, 23, of Pocono Summit. While speaking with the driver officers observed marijuana cigarette roaches in the ashtray and smelled the odor of marijuana emanatilng from the vehicle.

The front seat passenger identified himself as Shawn Fletcher. A check on Fletcher revealed no record. Officers later determined that Fletcher was really Tyshawn Sommerville, 23, of Mt. Pocono. Sommerville was arrested for false identification to law enforcement. He was processed and later released.

A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana stems and seeds throughout the vehicle and two marijuana cigarette roaches. Guerrero and Sommerville will be charged with drug law violations, police added.
