Summit Hill police report
Summit Hill police have had their hands full lately.
On Aug. 30 at 9:16 p.m., police saw people in Ludlow Park who had previously been warned the park closes at 9 p.m. in summer. They cited Arielle Dolena, 19, of 220 W. Columbus Ave., Nesquehoning, with violating borough park ordinance.
On Aug. 16 at 11:38 p.m., police were called to an East Holland Street house on a report of a mirror being smashed on a parked vehicle. A person had been seen smashing the mirror, but was gone when police arrived. The investigation of that matter is continuing.
On Aug. 18, police were called to an East Walter Street home for a report of a smashed out rear window on a vehicle. That investigation is also continuing. Anybody with information is asked to call borough police at (570) 645-7429.
On Aug. 17 at 11:47 p.m., Barry Lee Walck, 47, was charged after police were called to a West White Street address for a person attempting to get into a home. Walck was caught, and he had allegedly trespassed on three different homes. He was charged with three counts of trespassing and one count each of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
On Aug. 18 at 1:43 a.m., police were called to a North Market Street home, where they found Michael Halvorsen, 31, who was allegedly causing a disturbance outside a home. He was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
On Aug. 19 at 10:27 p.m., police were called to the intersection of Hazard and Chestnut streets on a report of a male lying on the sidewalk. They found Christopher Serina, 51, of 42 Leisenring St., Lansford, in highly intoxicated state. He was charged with public drunkenness.
On Aug. 19 at 1:45 p.m., police were notified by Jim Thorpe police that they had a vehicle stopped that had been in a recent accident. Upon investigation, police found there had been a hit-and-run on East White Bear Drive.
Melissa Walerski, 33, of 274 East High St., Coaldale, had allegedly struck a mail box and continued speeding toward Jim Thorpe, where that borough's police stopped her. She was charged with careless driving and accidents involving damage to unattended property.
