Tamaqua couple celebrates 60 years

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert W. Curvey of 118 Clay St., Tamaqua, are celebrating their 60 wedding anniversary today, Sept. 2. They were married in Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church, Tamaqua, by the Rev. John A. Kleinginna.

Mrs. Curvey is the former Evelyn Betz, daughter of the late John and Bertha Betz. Mr. Curvey is the son of the late Jacob and Mabel Curvey.

The couple has four children: Larry and his wife, Stephanie of Hometown; James and his wife, Beverly of Brockton; Jon and his wife, Maria of West Penn Township; and Diane, wife of Mark Chicanavage of Tamaqua. They also have 10 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

A family dinner was planned at the Red Lion Restaurant in honor of the occasion.
