Area couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Alex Stasyk of Bear Creek Lakes in Jim Thorpe are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Oct. 1, 1960 at Holy Child Catholic Church in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Stasyk is the former Pat Kershaw, daughter of the late Florence and Jack Kershaw of Philadelphia.

Mr. Stasyk is the son of the late Stella and Walter Stasyk, also of Philadelphia.

The Stasyks have three children: Lisa Veight, who is married to Shawn of Lumberton, N.J.; Kimberly Caven, who is married to John of Exton; and Nicolas Stasyk, who is married to Marie of Collegeville.

They also have seven grandchildren: Shane, Victoria, Luke, Alexandra, Mackenzie, Jake and Justin.

An anniversary party will be held in their honor.
