Tamaqua man charged after fight with ex-girlfriend

A Tamaqua man has been cited after an alleged confrontation with his ex-girfriend Thursday morning.

Officers were dispatched to 398 W. Cottage Ave. at 12:32 a.m. to deal with a male who had reportedly assualted a woman and then threatened to harm himself. At the scene, oficers found Scott Evan George, 36, walking down the steps from the residence. The initial report cautioned the suspect was possibly armed with a knife, which was later found inside the residence.

According to the report, George allegedly began arguing with his ex-girlfriend, Gwyn Davies, 23, same address. George allegedly grabbed Davies and pushed her over a foot stool. There was a witness to the event.

George was taken into custody and removed from the home. He was cited for assault.
