AMVETS to meet

Members of the AMVETS Post 83, Lansford, will meet on Sunday, Sept. 12, at noon at the post home. Commander Michael Frey will be in charge and asks that all regular members of the post attend.

Council to meet

The Lansford Borough Council will meet at 6:30 tonight in the community center. Robert Gaughan, president, will chair the session.

Summit Hill

Scripture sharing

The weekly scripture sharing sessions sponsored by St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. in the church rectory.

CCD registration

St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, and St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, have scheduled CCD registration sessions for youths from those churches who attend Panther Valley School District schools. They are as follows:

St. Joseph Church - Saturday, Sept. 11, from 10-11:30 a.m.; Sunday, Sept. 12, from 9:30-11:30 a.m.; and Wednesday, Sept. 15, from 7-8 p.m. The sessions will be held in the church social hall.

St. Katharine Church - Drexel Social Hall, Saturday, Sept. 18, from 10-11:30 a.m.; Sunday, Sept. 19, from 9:30-11 a.m.; and Wednesday, Sept. 22, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The sessions will be held in the church social hall.

Coaldale

First Congregational Church

Morning Worship will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at First Congregational Church, Ruddle Street, followed by Sunday School for all ages at 10 a.m. All youths, ages kindergarten through teens, are invited to attend.

The church board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept 13.

Choir practice will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15.
