Senior boxes

The Senior Boxes will be distributed at the Methodist Church on Friday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Free dinner

The next free community dinner will be on Wednesday, Sept. 29 from 5-7 p.m. at the Methodist Church.

Summit Hill

St. Paul Lutheran

A Service of Healing will be held on Sunday, Sept. 19, during the 10:30 a.m. worship service at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill.

Also on Sunday, the Confirmation class will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the church.

A council meeting for St. Paul/Zion Lutheran Parish will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. in the church.

Members of the St. Paul Task Force for Congregational Mission Planning are also requested to attend this meeting.

St. Paul's will celebrate Harvest Home on Sunday, Sept. 26, at 10:30 a.m. Donations of food items for the Summit Hill Food Pantry are requested in conjunction with this special service.

Presbyterian church

The fall schedule of services at the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, resumed last week. The regular schedule now in effect includes:

Sunday, Sept. 19 - junior choir rehearsal, 8:45 a.m.; Sunday school, 9:15 a.m.; worship service, 10:30 a.m.; and Fellowship coffee time, 11:30 a.m., or after the worship service.

The Chancel Choir will rehearse tonight at 7 o'clock and next Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the same time.

The Presbyterian Women will resume meeting on the second Monday of each month at 1 p.m. All women of the church are welcome to participate.

Scripture sharing

The weekly scripture sharing sessions sponsored by St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. in the church rectory.

Fall cleanup plans

Summit Hill Borough officials have announced the schedule for the town's annual fall cleanup. It is as follows:

On Thursday, Oct. 7, refuse will be picked up on the east side of town, along with Knepper's Trailer Court and East and West White Bear drives.

On Tuesday, Oct. 12, refuse will be picked up on the west side of town, along with Laurel Drive and East and West Mountaintop roads.

Items to be picked up include tires (no more than five), tire rims, auto body parts, refrigerators, freezers, vending machines, dehumidifiers, water coolers, heat pumps, washers, dryers and stoves. All items must have all chemicals removed from them and their doors taken off.

In addition, up to 10 bags of garbage will be collected.
