Tamaqua man cited for theft
A Tamaqua man has been cited for taking scrap metal that didn't belong to him.
Police received a report of the theft of scrap metal from a trailer owned by Robert Fredericks, of Spruce Street, on Aug. 3. The utility trailer had been parked on a lot on S. Lehigh Street. Fredericks checked the trailer at 8 a.m. that day and noticed a brake light unit was broken and several items were missing. The items included four lawn mowers, bed rails and an air conditioning unit.
The items were later found at a scrap metal recycling company in Schuylkill Haven. The company's owner was able to identify the person who brought in the scrap metal as Brad Comisac, 32, of 412 E. Elm St.
Comisac was cited for theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
