September 21, 1951 - Francis Deem scored three touchdowns and the Tamaqua Blue Raiders ran roughshod over Blythe Township for their third straight Eastern Conference Southern Division win. Deem scored his first touchdown on a two-yard run and ran 33 yards for his second TD. Deem took a lateral on the Blythe eight from Jack Burcin, who caught a pass from Norm McLaughlin and ran in for his third touchdown. Bob Moyer scored the opening touchdown on the second play of the game and Gene Kunkle ran five yards into the end zone for the last TD.
