Thorpe residents warned of scam

Jim Thorpe police are warning borough residents of a phone scam.

Police said a resident received a phone call from a male individual allegedly from Jamaica, who stated the resident had recently won a car.

The caller advised the resident to send him $350. He called from number (876) 586-8598.

Anyone receiving calls from individuals stating that they are the winning recipient in any type of drawing/contest and asked to send money should contact police.
