Heritage Hill man celebrates 91 years

Albert Francis Baloga is celebrating his 91st birthday on Sept. 20. Born in Wilkes-Barre in 1919, Albert is a Penn State graduate and holds a degree in industrial electronics. He is a veteran of World War ll and served with the Fourth Armored Division as an operative sergeant with the 704 Tank Destroyer BN.

Albert was married to his wife, Catherine for 30 years until her passing in 2003. They had two daughters, Mary and Catherine who died as infants.

He and his wife moved to Weatherly and he worked at Tung Sol from 1953-1962. From 1962 until the late 1970s he worked for RCA Corporation as a transistor engineer.

Albert is a member of the American Legion, an American Red Cross Volunteer and served on Weatherly council for many years. His hobbies are electronics and computers. Albert was editor and publisher of the 704th Tank Destroyer BN Association which published a quarterly newsletter.

He is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes in Weatherly and is a former president of the Holy Name Society.
