Driver facing DUI after crash

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influnence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25, along SR924, about a mile north of Brandonville in East Union Township.

State police at Frackville said troopers on patrol came upon a crash at the above location. A 1997 Pontiac Sunfire had traveled onto the east berm and struck the guard rail. The driver was identified as Mark Andrew Mumich, 31, of Sheppton. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest for DUI.

He was transported to a Pottsville hospital for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
