Two arrreted on drug charges

Two persons were arrested, including a Carbon County resident, on drug charges following a vehicle stop in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on Wednesday, Sept. 29, officers stopped a vehicle on SR115, south of Interstate 80, in Blakeslee, for an equipment violation.

The two occupants of the car were identified as Ashleigh Davis, 20, of Jim Thorpe, and Stephen Persavage, 28, of Coal Township, Northumberland County. Officers observed in plain view drug paraphernalia in the car and conducted a search of the vehicle.

The search revealed three, gallon size bags of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Also, a marijuana bowl and marijuana was found in one of Persavage's pockets.

Persavage and Davis were placed under arrest and charged with criminal conspiracy to commit possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession with intent, possessison of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The two were transported to the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment, police added.
