Pleasant Valley blanks ESS

Friday's rain and cold temperatures postponed almost the entire scholastic schedule in the TIMES NEWS coverage area.

Pleasant Valley scored less than a minute into the game and made it stand up for a 1-0 Mountain Valley Conference victory over East Stroudsburg South.

The Bears wasted little time in jumping on top as Hannah Bernier scored just 50 seconds into the game. Katie Forte assisted on the goal.

Pleasant Valley's defense and goalie Sarah Elmonticer made sure that was enough as the Cavaliers had just four shots in the game and Elmonticer stopped every one.

The Bears had 17 shots. East Stroudsburg South goalie Mariette Martinez made 13 saves.

The victory improves Pleasant Valley's record to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in MVC play.

Lehighton dropped a 3-0 Mountain Valley Conference decision to Stroudsburg.
