Fugitive arrested in Mount Pocono

A wanted fugitive was apprehended by Pocono Mountain Regional police following a routine traffic stop.

According to the Pocono Mountain Regional police report, on March 30, at 1:59 a.m., police conducted a vehicle stop along Route 196 in Mount Pocono for a vehicle code violation.

Officers spoke with the driver and passengers of the vehicle. Through further investigation, it was revealed that the passenger, David Mendez, 31, of Tobyhanna, had a bench warrant out of Lackawanna County for failure to appear for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Mendez was detained and released to Scranton Police Department.

A search of the vehicle, driven by Jennifer Colon, 25, of Tobyhanna, revealed drug paraphernalia. Charges are pending against Colon through Judge Fluegel's Office.
