Lack of sleep was reportedly to blame for a two-vehicle accident in Tamaqua Thursday morning, March 31.

James Heiney, 43, of McAdoo, was traveling west on Broad Street in a 2003 Toyota Avalon at 8:32 a.m. when his car drifted across the center line and into the eastbound lane.

The Toyota struck a 1999 Ford F150 pickup truck, which was being driven by Brad Matalavage, 40, of Tamaqua.

Heiney told police he fell asleep for a second. Neither driver was injured in the accident, but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
