Raiders pick up victory

The Tamaqua baseball team picked up a victory to highlight Saturday's scholastic sports action.

BASEBALL

Tamaqua-Hamburg

Tamaqua posted an 11-7 non-league win over Hamburg.

Mike Streisel picked up a mound save and also finished 2-for-4 with a triple to lead the Blue Raiders. Luke Matsago (single, double, two RBIs) and Matt DelBorrello (two-run double) aided in the effort.

Jim Thorpe dropped a 5-2 decision to Blue Mountain.

Individual winners for the Olympians were singles players Mitch Franko and Kyle Laurence, who both had to go the distance after splitting the first two sets of their matches.
