Assault incident
State police reported the arrest of a Carbon County resident for simple assault. Troopers said the incident occurred on March 31 about 8:53 a.m.
According to troopers John Jay Firestone, 51, of Albrightsville, went to the residence of his wife, Kelly Lorraine Firestone, at 190 Broad Mountain View Drive, in Penn Forest Township, at the time and date stated.
He went downstairs to her bedroom to give her a cup of coffee when he saw Michael F. Koma, 53, of Palmerton, sleeping on a couch in his wife's bedroom.
Firestone allegedly began to punch and kick Koma in the head several times. He then left the home prior to the arrival of troopers.
John Jay Firestone was later located and charged with simple assault, troopers said.
