Ryan's Oil & Heating finishes unbeaten

The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission (ESRC) winter basketball league concluded its regular season on Wednesday evening at the Tamaqua Area Athletic Center. Ryan's Oil & Heating finished unbeaten at 8-0 to capture the top-seed in next week's playoffs. R.R. Frey Services, Matika's Lawn Care/Blazosky Funeral Home and Cuz-N-Joe's Place round out this year's playoff field.

RESULTS

Cuz-N-Joe's Place-Gear Graphic & Sign

Cuz-N-Joe's Place knocked down 15 three-pointers and cruised past Gear Graphic & Sign by a final score of 91-48.

League scoring leader Jon Veet scored a game-high 26 points, while Soko Mujovic and Pat Sharkey posted identical lines of six three-points and 23 points apiece.

Bob Kreiser led Gear Graphic & Sign with 15 points and Travis Williams added 13.

Midas Touch Hair Salon-University Legendz

For the second straight year, Midas Touch Hair Salon scored an upset victory over University Legendz, 45-42.

Midas Touch rallied from a 27-24 halftime deficit and was paced by Nick Bales' 15 points. Mike Conley added 14, while Steve Nesgoda tacked on 12.

For University Legendz, Mike Murphy and Mike Bartholomew scored 10 points apiece.

Matika's Lawn Care/Blazosky Funeral Home-R.R. Frey Services

In a preview of next week's semifinal contest, R.R. Frey Services defeated Matika's Lawn Care/Blazosky Funeral Home 56-44.

Dave Wilson scored a game-high 26 points with four treys to lead R.R. Frey Services. Jeremy "Moose" Frey added 12 of his own.

For Matika's Lawn Care/Blazosky Funeral Home, Tom Miller scored 17 points.

Sokol Club-Ryan's Oil & Heating

Ryan's Oil & Heating capped off an undefeated regular season with a 79-59 victory over Sokol Club.

All five of Ryan's Oil and Heating's starters scored in double-figures with Jeff Krushinsky leading the way with 21 points. Shawn Tray (19 points) and Jeff Peel (17 points) also factored in the winning effort.

Chris Decker poured in 25 points to lead Sokol Club, while Chris Rhubright drained four three-pointers for 12 points.
