Jim Thorpe arrests
Jim Thorpe police reported on a theft arrest and the apprehension of a wanted person.
Police said on March 1 about 5:24 p.m. Pamela L. Bowman, 34, of 74 Broadway, 2nd floor, Jim Thorpe, was arrested for retail theft at the Turkey Hill Minit Market at 101 Susquehanna St. She allegedly took two Bic mini-lighters, two packs of Marlboro cigarettes and three Hershey peanut butter eggs, with a total value of $17.27, without paying for the items. The charge is a misdemeanor two, police said.
On Saturday, April 9, about 1:07 a.m. police stopped a vehicle for an equipment violaiton at the intersection of state routes 209 and 903. The driver was identified as Katlin Nico Frohnheiser, 19, of 1920 Ruan St., Philadelphia. Frohnheiser did not have a valid driver's license and only had an expired learner's permit, police said.
Her passenger was identified as David A. Acevedo, 27, of the same address. A check revealed Acevedo had two outstanding warrants for parole violations and was taken into custody.
While being taken into custody police found Acevedo had in his possession a suspected controlled substance. A drug charge is pending against Acevedo pending test results. Acevedo was placed in the county prison in Nesquehoning on the outstanding warrants.
Frohnheiser was cited for several motor vehicle code violations, police added.
