Schuylkill woman facing theft count

A Schuylkill County woman is facing a charge of retail theft following an incident at the Schuylkill Mall in New Castle Township.

State police at Frackville said on Monday, April 11, at about 4:30 p.m. Sears Store security stopped Roberta Leeann Schoener, 49, of Auburn, for allegedly attempting to leave the store with two electric scooters and a woman's sweater she had in a shopping cart without paying for the items.

Troopers said she was issued a citation and released.
