Injuries averted in Lynn accident

Mattew S. Leinberger, 38, of New Tripoli, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash April 13 at 6:06 a.m. on State Route 863 in Lynn Township, according to state police at the Fogelsville barracks.

Police said he was driving a 2009 Dodge Ram truck southbound, south of Scholler Road, when the vehicle struck a tree that was across both lanes of the road. In an unsuccessful attempt to avoid striking the tree, Leinberger swerved to the left and traveled onto the northbound berm where the impact happened. The vehicle came to rest on the east shoulder of the roadway.
