Luzerne driver facing drug count

A vehicle stop in Monroe County has led to the Luzerne County driver facing a drug count.

State police at Fern Ridge said Malikh Christian Jamison, 21, of Hazleton, was stopped about 9:15 a.m. on April 13 along Interstate 80 westbound in Tunkhannock Township, for a motor vehicle code violation.

Druing the stop it was learned that Jamison had an outstanding warrant for his arrest issued from Virginia. He was placed in custody and during a patdown search of his person five small bags of marijuana were found in his jacket pocket.

He was arrested for possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was released from custody when the Carolina County Sheriff's office in Virginia refused to extradite him.
