Minister criticially injured in crash

A Schuylkill County minister was criticially injured when his moped crashed on a wet roadway on Saturday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Rev. Daniel Bell, 49, of Schuylkill Haven, was operating a 2005 SYN HD200 moped northbound on SR61 in North Manheim Township, about 4:50 p.m. and negotiating a curve. Bell lost control on the wet road. The moped traveled onto the east berm and overturned. It spun clockwise where it came to rest facing north, troopers said.

Bell was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, and admitted in critical condition. He is pastor at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Schuylkill Haven.
