Holy Week services
St. John's Lutheran Church, South Ave., will hold the following services during Holy Week. Maundy Thursday, 7 p.m. Rite of First Holy Communion, along with the stripping of the altar. Good Friday, 2 p.m. service with scriptures and prayers. There will be no service on Saturday, April 23.
Easter day, April 24, 9:15 a.m. Sunday School; 10:30 a.m. festival of Holy Communion.
All Night Party
meeting tonight
The committee planning the 2011 All Night Party for Jim Thorpe High School seniors will meet this evening at 7 o'clock. Those planning to attend should bring along a paint brush and pen, to help with the decorations. If you have any questions, call (570) 778-5573.
Ebenezer service set
Ebenezer E.C. Church, 441 Center Ave., will hold Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. The Easter sunrise service will begin at 7 a.m. with holy communion, followed by Easter breakfast. An Easter service will also be held at 10:30 a.m.
St. John's Service set
St. John's Lutheran Church, 6th and North streets, will hold its Easter Sunday service at 9 a.m.
Egg hunt scheduled
The Diligent Fire Company #3, will hold the 64th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23, starting at 1 p.m. at the parking lot of the fire company on Center Avenue. The event is open to children up to the age of 10, and every child will receive a chocolate bunny.
