Schuylkill assault incident probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported the arrest of a Schuylkill County man following a domestic incident.

Troopers said at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, they were dispatched to 25 North St., Port Carbon, for a reported altercation.

Troopers said Rose Kovitch, 58, and John Miller, 44, both of Port Carbon, were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical. During the altercation Miller allegedly struck Kovitch in the face, causing a small cut along the nose which was bleeding, and also pulled large chunks of hair from her head.

Miller was charged with simple assault and harassment, troopers said.
