A Slatington driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 2:42 a.m. on Sunday, April 24, along KIngs Highway (SR100), in Upper Milford Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Adam C. Vogel, 21, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier southbound when the car went off the road while he was negotiating a right curve. The front end of the car struck a fence. The vehicle went through the fence and into a field where it struck a tree and came to rest.

Vogel was not injured. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.

Troopers also reported on another DUI arrest.

About 3:45 p.m. on April 15 Andrew V. Piscitelli, 52, of New Tripoli, was driving a 2006 Ford F250 northbound on Owl Valley Road, in the area of Hummingbird Road, in Lynn Township, when he failed to negotiate a curve. The truck hit loose cinders which caused Piscitelli to lose control. The truck went onto the berm and struck a tree.

Piscitelli was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by Northwestern ambulance. He was found to be under the influence and was arrested for DUI, troopers said.
