Bangor sweeps N'western in track

Rain wiped out all but one event on Thursday's scholastic sports schedule.

Northwestern's track meet at Bangor was the only area sport to be played.

Bangor swept Northwestern in its Colonial League track meet Thursday afternoon.

Nycole Everett had the best day of all of the Lady Tigers. Everett won the high jump with a leap of four feet, six inches. She also placed second in the discus and third in the shot put. Teammate Tori Black did well as well, as she had a first place (triple jump) and second place (long jump) finish.

The only two locals to win on the boys' side were Tyler Stelmack (1600-meter run) and Brett Hunsicker (triple jump). Hunsicker also placed third in the long jump.

Salisbury-No. Lehigh

Northern Lehigh cruised to a 11-1 win over Salisbury on Wednesday.

Shannon Weil paced the Bulldogs (5-4, 4-3) with a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the plate, which included two RBIs and two runs scored. Marissa Marsh chipped in with three singles, two runs scored and a RBI. Lexy Barrett added two singles, and three RBIs.
