Monroe woman facing charges
A Monroe County woman is facing charges, including driving under the influence (DUI), following an incident that occurred about 2:01 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said Cynthia Driscoll, 31, of Pocono Summit, was stopped along SR940 at Interstate 380 in Pocono Summit after being obsered driving erratically.
While speaking with Driscoll officers observed baggies of marijuana and a smoking device inside the vehicle. She was also under the influence of alchohol, police said.
She was placed under arrested and failed field sobriety tests. She was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results. She will be charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police added.
Police also reported officers made a traffic stop about 4:51 p.m. on Monday, April 25, along SR940 at the Carbon County line for speeding. Upon approaching the car police detected the odor of brunt marijuana and observed drug paraphernalia.
A further investigation revealed the three occupants of the vehicle were in possession of a small amount of marijuana and related drug paraphernalia.
The occupants of the car were identified as Shawn Elliott, 19, of Henryville, Thomas Weisbrod, 18, of Stroudsburg, and a 17-year-old male. They will be charged wit possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
