Rabenold returns to Pocono for ARCA race
Kory Rabenold will return to ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards competition this weekend at Pocono Raceway after finishing a solid 16th place in a fog shortened event at the Tricky-Triangle back in June.
The Slatington native and the KRR team are looking for even better results at the Pennsylvania ARCA 125.
After the June race, Crew Chief and Kory's father, Buzzy Rabenold, along with the rest of the KRR team, began working on the car to make it better and even more competitive. The major areas of concern were the braking system and the handling, especially coming off of turn three, "the money turn." Kory explains, "in practice in June, getting into one was a bit scary, because when I would tap the brakes to help set the car, my foot would go to the floor. I fought the car through the turn to keep it off of the wall, and then heading into the tunnel turn, again no brakes."
Rabenold in his No. 03 Rabenold Racing.com/Buzzy's Auto Body Chevrolet Impala will be making his 25th career ARCA start and eighth overall at Pocono International Speedway.
Practice begins Friday, August 5 beginning at 1:40 p.m. and ending at 3 p.m. Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell is slated to begin later in the day at 5:40. On Saturday, the Pennsylvania 125 will begin at 3 p.m. The event will be televised live on SPEED Network.
