Geoff Ebbert, Lehighton, recently attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on Law and CSI in Washington D.C. this past week.

A junior at Lehighton Area High School, he is a starter on the varsity soccer team, a member of the SAGE committee, a member of the Science Olympiad Team and an honor student. He was selected to attended the National Youth Leadership Forum's July 5-10 by his honors biology teacher, Missy Blocker.

Ebbert was able to have an in-depth look at the legal profession, the judicial process, and forensics and crime scene investigation. He participated in activities such as a simulated trial. He also toured some of the most prominent law firms, universities and legal sites in the district.

"While attending the forum, I learned a lot about our judicial government and the impact of dealing with our legal issues in today's society," said Ebbert.

"This forum was an awesome opportunity for me to meet and interact with new people and become educated about the science in today's legal system. The forum enabled me to strengthen my career choice in the forensic field."

Ebbert plans on playing college soccer and hopes to major in forensic science.

He has received a college credit toward his future degree from George Mason University.
