Finals are set

The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission (ESRC) summer volleyball league had its first round of playoffs on Thursday, August 4 at Black Diamond Park in Coaldale.

Sandstorm (the defending league champion) and top-seeded Valley Athletic Supply won both their respective matches and advanced to Tuesday evening's championship game.

The championship match is a repeat of last year's final, when Sandstorm defeated Valley Athletic in four games to claim the title.

Team Ram Rod

In a best-of-five match, Sandstorm defeated Team Ram Rod in four games, 25-18, 22-25, 25-16, 25-22.

Christa Mantz had 13 service points to lead Sandstorm.

Chris Fallabel had nine service points in Team Ram Rod's losses.

Now Serving-

Valley Ath. Supply

Valley Athletic Supply made easy work of Now Serving, posting scores of 25-10, 25-7, 25-20 in the three-game sweep.

Mary Horvat served 17 points to go along with five aces to aid in Valley Athletic's wins.

Paige Baddick had six service points to pace Now Serving.
