August 11, 1971 Dan Frank collects three hits, one of them a home run, to help Lansford gain an 11-6 victory over Tamaqua in the Panther Valley Little League tournament. Frank knocks in three runs and also scores twice. Winning pitcher John Heintzelman adds a double and two runs scored. Tom Stianche contributes an RBI double, while Jim Slog chips in with a run-scoring single and two runs scored.
