Lansford
AMVETS to meet
The Lansford AMVETS Post will meet on Sunday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. at the post home.
Commander Perry Shelton will be in charge of the meeting.
A meeting of the Home Association will take place immediately after the post meeting.
Baptism
Alex Joseph Bittle, infant son of Kimberly and James Bittle, Lansford, was recently baptized in St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church, Lansford.
The service was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Marjorie Keeter.
OLOAA picnic
Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford, will host a summer picnic on Saturday, Aug. 20, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Mauch Chunk Lake Park.
The picnic headquarters will be the Agnes McCartney Pavilion, where hot dogs, hamburgers and water will be served.
Activities for children of all ages are planned.
Those attending are reminded to bring their bathing suits, gloves, bats and volleyballs.
All children attending must be accompanied by an adult.

Kensington Evelyn Strohl, daughter of Craig and Korin (Boyd) Strohl of Summit Hill, was baptized on July 23 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill.

The Nesquehoning Woman's Club will open its new season's meetings with a dinner at the Beacon Diner in Lehighton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12.
