Hometown couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Griffiths of Hometown are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Aug. 19, 1961.

Mrs. Griffiths is the former Irene Derzak, daughter of the late Bernie and Mary Derzak of Coaldale.

Mr. Griffiths is the son of the late E. Franklin Griffiths Sr. and Mabel Griffiths of Tamaqua.

The couple has two children: a daughter, Kelly Cerimele, who resides at home; and a son, Scott, who resides in Coaldale with his wife, Marie.

They have four grandchildren: Sindle Griffiths, Dominic Cerimele, and Dustin and Sasha Kranch.
