August 22, 1961 Tony Pajakinas hurls a two-hit shutout to lead Tamaqua to a 2-0 win over Lansford in the Panther Valley Little League tournament. Pajakinas, who finishes with two walks and seven strikeouts, also collects three hits at the plate and scores a run. The winners, who push across both runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, also receive hits from Bill Sakusky and Glen Schoener. Dave Padora pitches well in defeat for Lansford, allowing just five hits while striking out three.
